In ten years we will be counting down to the year 2020 ...
So - here is the question I asked our church this past Sunday in my message ...
What is your 2020 Vision?
What might God want to do in your life in the next ten years?
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him
but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit."
- 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (NIV)
Here's the truth:
We overestimate what we can accomplish in the short run,
but we underestimate what we can accomplish in the long run!
You may not be able to lose 10 pounds in one day, but you can lose 20 pounds in one year!
You may not be able to get out of debt in one month, but you can in ten years!
To gain a greater sense of what might happen in the next ten years - think back over what has happened in your life in the last ten years! (2000-2009)
Ten Years ago ...
... we had "land line" phones, NOW we're browsing the internet on our wireless phones!
... my daugthers were both still in school, NOW they are both school teachers!!
... our church was averaging 300-400 people in one location, NOW we have two locations with 700-800 people each week in attendance!
... U.S. National Debt was only $6 Trillion (the "good old days"), NOW it is over $12 Trillion!!
... we were just getting ready for Y2K, NOW we are coming within reach of 2020!!
So - where will you be ten years from now?
- Where will you be spiritually?
- Where will you be relationally?
- Where will you be professionally?
- Where will you be financially?
I'm excited about these next ten years! I believe God wants to do great things!
I can't wait!
