I started out the day visiting a dynamic young church in Orlando (Summit Church) led by one of our kids former camp counselors (Isaac Hunter). In six short years this dynamic new church is reaching thousands of young folks in central Florida - a great work of God!
After church - I started driving to the Super Bowl game with the Colts & Saints. I was only one step away from being there in person - well about 250 miles actually! I ended up watching it on the little TV at my mother-in-law's place in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. I guess I was like the Colts ... I got close but didn't quite get all the way there! (Congrats to the Saints & Drew Brees - check out his great testimony here!)
In the middle of the night I woke up (at 4am) to watch the final night-time launch of the Space Shuttle - from 30 miles away. It is an impressive thing that we can send a crew of astronauts into space riding on top of a bomb!!Kathy and I will fly back home to snowy Indiana today - rested and ready - and I'll look forward to being back at Sonrise next Sunday - where every week we "take off" with a Super Sunday!
