This is the day we celebrate our "Independence" as a nation - we are a free people - but our freedom was not free - it came at a great price!
Here are a few questions I'm thinking about this year on this great day ...
- Who is our freedom FROM?
- Are we free TO fulfill a purpose?
- Is there some special reason we are free FOR?
I believe we've been set free from tyranny, to freely live for God's purposes! That means, our freedom is part of our "manifest destiny" which is a gift from God! I am thankful for this freedom, but also mindful that this freedom is a treasure to invest wisely!
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."
